Shine also offers a mixture of workshops and one to one sessions covering a wide range of topics.
The sessions are flexible, informal fun and appeal to a variety of learning styles and age groups.

Life Works
Life Works is a programme of three modules, which have been specifically designed to help people who are dealing with challenges in their lives.
The course enables people to take steps to improve their future. It may be a need for more confidence, assertiveness or a greater understanding of who they are and what they want to achieve.
The modules are each over 5 sessions of 2.5 hours and can used to build on each other or delivered separately.
Each module comes with an extensive workbook, which includes techniques and tips to use as a later resource.
On completion each participant will be presented with a certificate and will be asked to complete a personal evaluation of the course.
Life Works Modules
1. Mind Works
Gaining a basic understanding of how the mind works is hugely empowering and can enable the participant to begin to see how to make changes and believe that it is possible to achieve what they may have believed was beyond their reach. This module also focuses on the individual skills and qualities of each participant.
Content includes:
- Who are you?
- Conscious and unconscious mind
- The power of suggestion
- Changing your mind
- Learning and beliefs
- Techniques for change
Objectives
- Identify key strengths and uniqueness.
- Begin to change some patterns of behaviour
- Identify personal responsibility in situations
- Gain an understanding of the importance of the power of suggestion.
- Develop motivation.
- Learn and begin to use techniques to develop confidence.
2. Communication Works
Effective communication skills are essential in all relationships. They are also essential to the building of confidence. This module will help the participant to begin to change their own patterns of internal communication as well as the way they relate to others.
Content includes:
- Listening skills
- Physiology
- Tone and words
- Using positive language
- Learning modalities
- Controlling emotional state
Objectives
- Practice the characteristics of effective listening.
- Gain an understanding of internal communication.
- Review a range of techniques to make communication more successful.
- Practice techniques to build rapport with others
- Have a greater understanding of the communication patterns of others.
- Build confidence in communication with others.
3. Action Works
Research studies consistently show that designing and
implementing goals makes a significant difference in creating success. This module will look at creative goal setting along with the steps needed to begin to achieve a successful future.

- Time lines and life values
- The power of focus
- Making decisions and life balance
- Taking risks
- Positive influences
- Steps to success
Objectives
- Discuss, identify and rank life values.
- Identify the characteristics of effective people.
- Learn how to focus on a positive successful attitude.
- Develop strategies for personal effectiveness.
- Plan short and long term goals.
- Create a purpose statement
- Design a vision board.
Life Changes
Communication Skills
This new 5 session course will be of benefit to anyone who wants to learn how to overcome the habitual behaviour that is a barrier to becoming healthy. For example: stop smoking, overeating, and giving yourself a hard time!

- Relaxation and visualisation

- To stop using the compulsive behaviour that feeds your habit.
